Questions about taking in your own candy/coke & popcorn to a movie theater?

thinking things. since have never gone movies , have never worket @ one, have wondered taking in own food , drink? have noticed @ local dollar theater, movie cheap yet food & drink little pricey me got me wondering rules @ theaters. don't think i've seen sign has said can't bring own stuff movie theater popcorn , coke , candy. know alot of people sneak stuff in purse, why? if blatantly bring own food, drink, , candy theater , pay movie....can or kicked out? law concerning this? can movie theater refuse let me see movie if bring own food & drink me pay movie?
