how many insurance companies did apply to? looking coverage preexisting injuries, or going forward? did use broker?

if really, can't find private coverage, option shop around new job, has group health insurance benefits.

my husband eligible group insurance due multiple injuries/surgeries obtained playing sports. employer not provide benefits, nor mine. able insurance privately, refused him. else can do?
